This is a very tasty Chinese dish that my chinese ayi (maid/aunt) taught me to cook a long time ago back in Shanghai. It is quick, and it is a really tasty dish!!Star Anise chicken can also be cooked with pork instead. You actually do the exact some thing, but with pork. This is one of the dishes I always cook for our Chinese New Years celebrations.
- 4 chicken filets, cut into small pieces
- 4 table spoons cornstarch
- 8 Star anise
- 2 egg whites
- Soy sauce
1, Mix the egg whites with the cornstarch and anise.
2, And then you add the chicken and make sure they are all covered with the egg mixture.
3, Wait for some minutes, then put it into the wook and cover with water.
4,Let it simmer for a few minutes.
5, Rinse it with water, and strain it.
6, Next, add oil to the wook and fry it all for about 2 minutes.
7, Add some water, and 5-6 tablespoons of soy sauce.
8, And some salt and sugar, just a little bit!
9, Let it simmer for around 5 minutes.
